November is a very special month; and not just because of how close it is to Christmas! For fans of the classic sci-fi series Doctor Who, the 23rd of this month is better known as Doctor Who Day or TARDIS Day in honour of the show’s original air date.
Incredibly, this year will mark the 59th anniversary of the popular franchise, and, with almost six decades of history, 13 Doctors and a massive cult following spanning several generations, fans, a.k.a. Whovians, all around the world, are gearing up to celebrate the monumental occasion in style.
Of course, this means that Hog Roast Bulwick’s catering managers, Ben and Beth, are looking forward to helping out with events that are set to take place a little closer to home, and so far, their assistance has been requested by several Doctor Who superfans!
One client, Joe, who has been a fan of the show ever since Christopher Eccleston took the reins in 2005, has organised a huge party in commemoration of the day. He’s managed to hire an events hall for the evening and has invited over 200 people to come along and take part in the festivities.
Everyone has been encouraged to wear fancy dress and join in with the Doctor Who-themed party games that Joe has organised, which we’re certain will make for a brilliant atmosphere! He has also asked for Hog Roast Bulwick to serve our Southern Slow Roast Menu on this occasion, which will see our team prepare a buffet of Texan 24-hour beef brisket, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, BBQ pork butt and vegan BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with a selection of salivating sides, including creamy macaroni and cheese, seasonal green leaf salad and mixed sweet potato and traditional fries.
Ben and Beth can’t wait to help Joe out with this event, and we’re confident that they will do Hog Roast Bulwick proud when the time comes!
