This March, Hog Roast Northampton has been hired to cater for a private party taking place at a home in Northamptonshire. Lily is hosting the party as a family get-together, with some family members travelling over two hours to enjoy some good food and an overdue catch-up. The menu needed to be perfect to make the travelling worth it, so Lily contacted Hog Roast Northampton to find out what we could do for the occasion. Our catering manager Ben suggested a classic hog, since it is simple yet incredibly comforting and versatile, making it a well-rounded choice for the occasion. The hog will be served with a selection of fantastic sides to create the perfect menu overall.
On the day of the gathering, the Hog Roast Northampton team arrived at Lily’s home in the morning to give us plenty of time to prepare all of our dishes on-site. We started with the hog, which needed around five hours to cook to perfection. Once it was ready, the succulent pork was carved and served alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we served homemade chips, roasted baby potatoes, seasonal vegetables, corn cobettes, and gourmet coleslaw.
