On 24th August 2025, our team had the pleasure of catering for Howdens’ staff party at our beautiful partnered venue Grendon Lakes. With an incredible 350 guests to serve, it was the perfect chance for our Hog Roast Wellingborough team to showcase just how well we handle large scale events while keeping the food fresh, delicious, and full of variety.The star of the menu was, of course, a whole roasted pig served with golden crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and our much-loved apple sauce. To make sure every guest could enjoy it just the way they liked, we served it alongside a selection of fresh bread rolls and wraps, including gluten-free options. For a fun twist, we also added 100 classic hot dogs in soft finger rolls, a nostalgic favourite that proved hugely popular with the crowd.
To balance the feast, we laid out a colourful spread of side dishes. Guests enjoyed tomato and mozzarella salad, a fresh mixed salad, and creamy coleslaw, which all paired beautifully with the mains. For the potato option, we went with a 50/50 split to make sure there was something for everyone, herb dressed new potatoes on one side, and a mix of freshly made chips and sweet potato fries on the other, complete with plenty of sauces, salt, and vinegar.
We also made sure vegetarian and vegan guests were looked after with our flavour-packed grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (with a vegan version available without the halloumi). Served in wraps with tzatziki or punchy sweet chilli sauce, they were every bit as exciting as the meaty dishes.
All food was served buffet-style on our eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery, keeping the setup sustainable without compromising on quality or presentation.
The atmosphere at Grendon Lakes was fantastic, relaxed, friendly, and full of energy as staff came together to celebrate. Our Hog Roast Wellingborough team loved being part of such a big occasion, making sure every plate was filled and every guest left happy.
