The bond with your colleagues is something unique but sometimes there isn’t enough time to chat or catch up through the day so once the laptops close and the phones stop ringing, everyone finally gets the chance to relax together, when a work event is planned that every staff member can be a part of. Our Hog Roast Boscastle team travelled to Duxford earlier this month to cater a half-day work party for the SMT Network team at SMT GB and we were thrilled to be a part of such a fun and memorable event.
With 120 guests attending, the atmosphere quickly shifted from work to celebration mode as colleagues gathered outside for an afternoon of good food, conversation and well-earned downtime. Our catering manager Ben led the team and arrived ready for a 12pm service, long before the staff arrived to build their perfect plates, our catering team set up a BBQ spread that had team members gathering around and discussing what their favourite part of the spread was.
For this event, guests were treated and spoilt for choice with an endless spread of traditional grilled favourites, from British beef burgers to slow roasted pork and chicken kebabs served alongside fried onions, cheese, fresh bread rolls, and wraps. Meanwhile, as we always cater for all dietary requirements, any vegetarian guests could enjoy vegetarian burgers and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, giving everyone plenty to tuck into. Add in Greek salad, creamy coleslaw and crispy fries, all served on wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery and the set up complemented the venue and atmosphere perfectly.
One of the things we love most about events like this is seeing how food can bring people together. Colleagues who might usually only interact in meetings, were standing together chatting over burgers and fries, while others made the most of the sun with second helpings and cold drinks in hand. That’s exactly the kind of service Hog Roast Boscastle are experts in creating at every event we cater.
The feedback we received following the event, made the day even more memorable for our team. The hosts told us: “We had our event today with the amazing food from your company, all we can say is WOW. Everything was so hot, tasty, and well presented. We have had nothing but amazing comments.” They also praised the service as “first class” and even joked, “Any time you have spare feta cheese salad, please send it my way LOL.” We always appreciate feedback like this because it proves to us just how much guests value not only the food but the overall experience.
