One of the wonderful things about the summer wedding season and being a wedding caterer is that we get to witness the very beginnings of an exciting and lifelong journey. Two people that have vowed to take the ultimate journey we call life together, and this special day is just the very first small steps of it.
It is hugely gratifying to then also see the other side of it as a caterer, as Hog Roast Stamford’s wedding season will also frequently feature many a wedding anniversary too. This week was a really special one, as we helped to mark an incredible 25th wedding anniversary. From those first small few steps on the wedding to 25 years on, still going strong and just as in love as that first wedding day – what a privilege to be able to cater for such an occasion and story!
With a 25th wedding anniversary, our approach at Hog Roast Stamford is much like if it was a wedding day. The same importance in the occasion, the same want for stylish and elegant dining, the same atmosphere of love and celebration to create. Our menu, then, came from our wedding dining packages as we delivered a very special southern slow roast dining experience. This is one that is great for outdoor summer events, especially weddings as it takes a slightly different route from your more traditional style of Sunday roast dining. Instead of your classic roast beefs, Yorkshire puddings, etc, you’ve got a tonne of exciting flavour and spice coming in with Texas style beef briskets, sticky pork ribs, and Cajun spiced chickens, all cooked “low and slow” to get a tonne of flavour from our spice rubs and BBQ marinades to really intensify and turn the meat lovely and tender. Out of 68 guests at the event, we’d wager that most came back in for more from our serving table, along with helpings of cooling Greek salad, seasonal roasted veg, and roasted new potatoes. Only a brave few dared go in for our hot pepper sauce – for good reason too; it’s a very spicy one!
