Hog Roast Byfield was delighted to be able to assist Richard and Amber with their little boy’s Christening last week, which was attended by 75 of the couple’s closest friends and family members.
As new parents, the pair had enough on their plates trying to navigate the first year of parenthood without worrying about how they were going to be able to cater to the needs of all of their guests, so they had reached out to Hog Roast Byfield for some help a few weeks before the event went ahead. Right away, our catering managers, Ben and Beth, were able to make Richard and Amber feel at ease, and they were so pleased to discover that their favourite menu plans of ours were well within their budget.
After taking a few days to discuss things amongst themselves, the clients came back to us to cement their booking for our BBQ Menu, which offers plenty of finger-lickin’ foods that are perfect for more relaxed celebrations, such as the one Amber and Richard had in mind! The couple were also really impressed by our meat-free choices and had asked us to include our grilled veggie skewers with tzatziki dip, a punchy sweet chilli sauce and flatbreads on the menu for their plant-based guests. Everyone else was to be served a meaty selection of our chef’s own handmade British beef burgers, juicy sausages, tasty chicken kebabs and BBQ spare ribs with inclusive side salads, vegan coleslaw and chips for everyone to enjoy.
When the day of the Christening arrived, Ben, Beth and the catering team travelled to the function hall that the couple had rented out for the occasion, and immediately got started on setting up the dining furniture and preparing the food ahead of the guests’ arrival. The grilled meat made the entire venue smell divine and the striking presentation of the salad and coleslaw options immediately caught the attention of the guests as they made their way into the hall.
Richard and Amber were both really pleased with Hog Roast Byfield’s performance on the day, and their guests thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ buffet, which was rounded off with a slice of cake that our team served with fresh berries and cream.
