Last Friday afternoon saw our Hog Roast Caldecott team serve one of our stunning spreads at Lawrence and Annabelle’s manor house wedding in the countryside.
Upwards of 300 guests had come from far and wide to see the happy couple tie the knot at the idyllic setting, which felt like a long time coming since they had faced multiple cancellations and had been forced to reschedule their wedding several times due to the pandemic. Fortunately, the delay only seemed to make them all the more excited to get hitched, and on the morning of the nuptials, our catering crew arrived bright and early to help ready the dining tables with crisp white tablecloths and floral centrepieces, after which they began to prepare the exhaustive reception feast.
Led by Ben and Beth, Hog Roast Caldecott’s catering crew effortlessly whipped up the formal banquet, which offered five beautifully presented canapĂ© options of pan-seared fillet of beef, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, chicken liver parfait, smoked Scottish salmon and roasted duck. The bite-size foods were packed full of flavour and served to guests as they arrived.
Once seated, the wedding party was treated to a seasonal bowl of piping hot homemade soup, complete with buttered crusty bread, followed by a choice of slow-roasted free-range pork with all the trimmings or mustard-brushed sirloin of English beef with Yorkshire puddings and a rich, red wine gravy. Vegetarians and vegans were instead offered grilled veggie skewers, with their choice of side options from the inclusive selection of salad, potato dishes and veg on offer.
Our individual handmade cheesecakes and sticky toffee pudding rounded off the main feast perfectly, and as the evening progressed, Ben and Beth compiled the leftover meat and sides into platters for the peckish guests to pick away at. They then turned the empty dessert table into a buffet of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, which went down a treat with the guests.
The festivities lasted well into the night, and Lawrence and Annabelle were both so pleased with how seamlessly Hog Roast Caldecott handled their reception from beginning to end, which made their entire day all the more magical.
