Hog Roast Bourn turned January Into Party Season at Bourn Hall

Hog Roast BournWith Hog Roast Bourn, any time of year is an excuse for a memorable event and usually a January evening doesn’t feel like party season, but on 30th January, Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic proved that a belated Christmas celebration can be just as lively as a festive celebration and arguably better timed. With the rush of December out of the way, the team gathered for a relaxed evening that was all about good food, familiar faces, and a proper thank you for another year’s hard work.

Bourn Fertility Clinic is one of our repeat customers and we are always so excited to host an event with them. Our catering manager Ben worked closely with the clinic to put together a menu that had generous portions, a warm atmosphere, and suited to a winter evening without being too heavy.

Hog Roast BournLong before the 100 guests arrived, our catering team was hard at work prepping the main event, slow roasting the pork until the meat fell apart when carved and the smell of the flavours filled the venue, ready to pull the guests to where the food was at. As guests began to fill the venue from 6pm, the focus was on variety and smooth service with our popular southern slow roast menu. Guests could choose from not one but three slow cooked meats, tender beef brisket, flavoursome cajun chicken with the perfect amount of spice or rich lamb. Of course, we know that no roast is complete without a good helping of hearty sides, guests could load their plate further with creamy mac and cheese, light green leaf salad and crunchy coleslaw.

Your vegan and vegetarian guests will always be catered for too, without feeling like an after thought, they can enjoy all the same flavours without the meat involved. 20 portions of vegetable and halloumi skewers prepared and served with the same care as the rest of the menu. An additional serving of roasted baby new potatoes rounded the plates off.

The event took place at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic, Bourn, a setting that transformed from professional workspace to after hours celebration. As guests arrived, the smell of slow roasted meats set the tone straight away. There’s something about seeing food prepared on site that encourages people to slow down, mingle, and actually enjoy the evening rather than rush through it. For the team at Hog Roast Bourn, we were honoured to be welcomed back to a familiar setting which made it easier to know how to keep service flowing without disrupting the guests. That familiarity meant Ben and his team could focus on the details: timing, presentation, and making sure everyone felt looked after.

The plates were cleared, the evening began to wind down and it was lovely to be a part of an event that brought people together. For the clinic, it was a chance to thank the staff properly. For the catering team, it was another example of why repeat bookings matter. When trust is already there, events feel less like work and more like collaboration. Hog Roast Bourn would like to thank everyone involved for being a part of such a memorable evening.
