Hog Roast Kettering – Calling Time on 30 Years of Police Service the Right Way

The Hog Roast Kettering brand has been bringing specialist hog roast dining services to events for three decades now. In that time we’ve had a lot of faces come and go, as well as some that have stuck around for near enough the entire journey. What we have done pales in comparison, however, to the same thirty years of service that our highlighted customer of the week has put in alone.

We’d like to tell you a little about Colin and his extra special event from the weekend, which called time on a whopping thirty years of service in the police force. Celebrating this incredible achievement while also marking his official retirement from the force, Colin had 150 friends, family, and current and former colleagues together to join for his final send off from the force. Joining along with them: head chef Ben and the Hog Roast Kettering team, who catered a magnificent hog roast dinner for the whole party to enjoy amongst an evening of stories, memories, laughs and tears for a man who has given his all to the police force and community over the last thirty years.

It is a testament to the brilliance of the man that 150 guests would come out to the Stanion Village Hall to share in his final retirement celebration. What a wonderful evening it was to be a part of, as current and ex colleagues shared some incredible stories from Colin’s time in the police force. Plenty of rousing tributes given to the soon to be retiree, who will go off into his new life knowing he provided a valuable service over the last three decades. The Hog Roast Kettering team couldn’t have been more privileged to be able to cater for such an event, and we reckon our dining did the whole evening justice.

One hog roast prepped in the traditional style, to be served along with homemade sage and onion stuffing, golden crackling, fresh apple sauce, a medley of regular and sweet potato fries, gluten free rolls, and an accompaniment of grilled veg and halloumi skewers as a veggie and vegan alternative – a fitting menu for a fitting tribute.
