Jack came to Hog Roast Silverstone with a very interesting event idea recently. One which he hoped would raise money for a brilliant cause close to his heart and give his guests a fun day out.
His plan was to host a game show-style quiz event, but with a twist. The twist being that for every question contestants answered wrongly, they were to be hit with coloured slime from above. If you’re conjuring up images of popular 90s and early 00s kids’ shows, then you’re right on the money!
Jack’s hope was that a light-hearted approach would persuade people to purchase tickets and donate to his chosen charity, and as a reward for being such great sports and taking part, the winners were given gift vouchers and a basket of goods donated by small businesses in the local area. Those in the audience were welcome to take part in raffles, which were hosted throughout the night, with all profits raised going directly to charity.
To keep everyone’s spirits up and prevent the masses from getting hangry, Jack had called in Hog Roast Silverstone to serve one of our best-loved menu plans. The menu he picked for this event was our Classic Hog Roast Menu, which suited his budget and the tone of the event perfectly.
On the day of Jack’s fundraising event, our team dedicated several hours to preparing this delightful spread, which incorporated a whole slow-roasted free-range pig served with savoury sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, crackling and gluten-free rolls with gourmet coleslaw, mixed fries and side salads. The team also made sure to prepare a meat-free alternative of grilled vegetable skewers and tzatziki dip for the vegetarian and vegan guests.
By the time Jack took to the stage to thank everyone for coming and kick start the event, every chair in the room had been filled. He was thrilled with the turnout and was even more pleased that everyone seemed to be in great spirits – especially when Hog Roast Silverstone began serving our delightful hog roast rolls, which everyone was excited to try.
The evening couldn’t have gone any better, and Jack and his ticket holders left feeling great about the night they had!
