It feels like a far cry away already, but it was only just last week that we were still enjoying the last touches of autumn. Now the winter season is very much firmly here. You only need to look outside at the snow or feel the cold touch of the current freezing temperatures on your hands to see that. Luckily for catering manager Ben and the Hog Roast Towcester team, we had one last event which ended up accidentally being the perfect send-off to autumn at the weekend.
Thanks to our customer of the weekend, Lulu, the Hog Roast Towcester team were able to serve up an appropriately themed goodbye to autumn sizzler with our delicious southern slow roast helping to feed the 65 guests in attendance for Lulu’s birthday. Thank goodness to the snow and the freezing temperatures held off for just a few days more, because this event ended up working excellent outdoors in Lulu’s garden where a small tent was set up by Lulu for some of the guests to shelter, and our catering manager Ben was also set up under our own Hog Roast Towcester serving tent. Ben got to work right away sizzling up some excellent southern classics from across the pond – just the thing to get any outdoor autumn event nice and warmed up.
At Lulu’s request, we had our deliciously seasoned Cajun whole roasted chicken, succulent minted lamb, the most rich and creamy mac and cheese – an all-American classic -, along with helpings of seasoned fries and sweet potato fries, and plenty of rolls for mopping up the juiciness of our delicious meats and sauces.
We had an excellent time enjoying what would end up being the seeming final days of autumn along with Lulu and her guests. Each person was wonderful and seemed to really take to our southern slow roast menu. We hope that Lulu enjoyed her birthday as much as we did, and hopefully any leftovers have done well to help her weather the winter storms in Towcester!
