This November we provided catering for a non-profit event based in Brandon, and this is how it went!
USO (United Services Organisation Inc) are an American non-profit charitable corporation, providing entertainment to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. Live entertainment often included comedians, actors, and musicians, as well as social facilities and other useful programs. This November, Ashley from USO contracted our catering manager Ben to discuss catering options for an upcoming event. The event required catering for 300 guests, including a variety of dishes to ensure that there was something for everyone to enjoy. After discussing the catering options that we have to offer, we decided that our Southern Slow Roast Menu was the ideal choice.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Barnwell team arrived at RAF Lakenheath to prepare the lunch for the guests. We began by preparing the main dishes, including a BBQ pork butt, beef brisket, and Cajun whole-roasted chickens. Alongside the main dish, we also provided Greek salad, seasonal veg, roasted baby new potatoes, and tasty mac and cheese. This created a deliciously versatile meal for the guests to enjoy, with a wide selection to ensure that was plenty for everyone to enjoy.
This menu was served buffet style on wooden crockery and cutlery, which was the ideal level of formality for this event. The Hog Roast Barnwell team had lots of fun preparing this menu and it was great to be part of something so meaningful.
