Hog Roast Brixworth have had the pleasure of catering all kinds of parties and events all over Northamptonshire and further afield, in lots of different locations, for many years now. From an informal milestone birthday party in a back garden to a wedding reception in a posh hotel or a huge corporate event with hundreds of guests for a sit-down meal, we’ve done it all, and just recently we even catered a large event with more than 200 guests at Northampton Sailing Club. As you probably know if you’re local, the members’ club is located at Pitsford Reservoir in Brixworth, and provides windsurfing, dinghy racing and cruising for all ages. However, members can also hire the grounds for a wedding or private party, as our customer did this on this day.
For this particular occasion, our chef Ben and his team at Hog Roast Brixworth arrived on a sunny day and set up the gazebo and serving station in a stunning position close to the water’s edge and right next to the marquee. We were also close to the bouncy castle, which later on in the day looked like a lot of fun for the little ones (and the not-so-little ones, too!) We’d been asked to roast a hog or two, to supply enough meat to feed around 220 people, for us to make pigs in buns at serving time. Pigs in buns is what we call hog roast rolls, where we stuff lovely bits of pork and crackling into fresh bread rolls (or wraps if preferred), top with apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing (both our homemade delights) and then let you choose to add any condiments inside too, as we always bring them along. As well as being in hog roast heaven, the guests would be treated to fresh, homemade coleslaw, Greek salad, cobettes and wedges, so there would be plenty of food to go around.
Hog Roast Brixworth had a wonderful time serving dozens of hungry guests and all of our delicious food went down a storm. All the empty plates that came back were testament to that and that’s the only compliment we need!
