For over four decades, Medicom Healthpro Ltd has been at the forefront of designing, manufacturing and supplying single-use products for medical, dental, hygiene and industry-related facilities and businesses; and during the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for their services has seen a dramatic increase. Working round the clock to supply masks, gowns and gloves to workers all over the globe, the Medicom staff were well deserving of a treat, and Katie had just the thing in mind for them: a scrumptious hog roast!
With that, she set out to find the perfect hog roast caterer to handle the corporate event, and her search led her straight to Hog Roast Houghton. Right away, after scanning our testimonials page, Katie reached out to discuss menu arrangements and serving times with our catering manager, Ben, who was more than happy to accommodate her unique needs.
Since Medicom’s business operates into the early hours of the morning, Katie wanted us to handle two separate services. The first one took place between 10 am and 1 pm for the 90 people working the day shift, and the second ran from 10 pm until 1 am for the 35 night workers. For Ben and the Hog Roast Houghton team, this was no trouble at all – we were just happy to help out!
Katie had also asked us to keep the meal relatively simple, so Ben had suggested our Classic Hog Roast Menu, which turned out to be exactly what she had been looking for. For Hog Roast Houghton to prep the meal on time for the staff, they had made sure to arrive at Brackmills Industrial Estate five hours before each serving time, which afforded them enough time to slow-cook the pig and allow it rest before carving the soft and tender meat and serving it on gluten-free rolls. They also roughly chopped fresh onions, peppers, courgettes, mushrooms and halloumi into chunks before adding them to skewers and chargrilling them over the flames for the veggie/vegan workers.
Katie and the Medicom staff were really happy with everything Ben and the Hog Roast Houghton crew prepared, and with something for everyone, no one felt left out.
