While hog roasts have become increasingly popular catering options for weddings, birthday parties, christening’s and a whole lot of other celebratory events over the years, sometimes our clients find themselves just wanting a hog roast for no particular reason at all – and who could blame them? Recently, the Hog Roast Rushden team received a booking from Susan who had plans to host a garden party at her home in Bedford.
With 50 hungry mouths to feed, the last thing Susan needed to be dealing with was the added stress of cooking, serving and tidying up after the party was over, but fortunately for her, she discovered the Hog Roast Rushden catering crew via our website. After a quick call to our customer service team, Susan was left in the capable hands of our talented chef Kerry and her daughter Teegan who have catered for a number of events and have left previous clients very happy.
After talking Susan through our wide variety of options and services, it was decided that a more formal outdoor buffet-style menu would suit her needs more. When the day of the party finally rolled around, talented duo Kerry and Teegan worked diligently under the protection of their gazebos with the rest of the team to rustle up a tantalising menu. Before long, scents of succulent slow roasted pig served with apple sauce, stuffing and crispy crackling; rosemary seasoned spring lamb with mint and a mustard and dill sauce, juicy sausages and whole roasted turkey with fresh cranberries and sage and onion stuffing filled the air and guests queued up to fill their plates. For those following strictly plant-based diets, the team also offered a choice of grilled vegetable or grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers which were a huge hit – even among meat-eaters!
Since the party took place, Susan has reached out to thank the Hog Roast Rushden team for being on hand to provide an array of delicious foods, enough environmentally friendly wooden crockery for her guests and of course for discreetly cleaning up the evening’s aftermath which allowed her to sit back, relax and enjoy the sunshine with her guests.
