Here at Hog Roast St Neots, we’ve catered many parties over many years in and around the Cambridgeshire area and further afield. Whether you need tasty food provided for your wedding day, to celebrate a milestone birthday or for a corporate event (or just about any other special occasion you can think of), we can create a hog or spit roast centre-piece that will wow your guests, fill the air with gorgeous aromas and fill everyone’s tummies with meaty goodness. What you may not know is that we can cook all kinds of other food for your function, too, whether that’s extra homemade goodies for everyone to share or if it’s certain dishes for your vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free guests. If anyone attending your party or event has an intolerance, allergy or particular diet choice, let us know and we will ensure that they are well-fed too.
Hog Roast St Neots was recently asked to cater a fundraising event in the gardens of a lovely, listed village house in the quiet, quaint village of Snailwell. Our chef Ben roasted a hog to absolute perfection in order to make pigs in buns for around 100 guests. Once the meat has rested, we carve off all the crispy, salty crackling and slice into the hog to fill trays with both, then cram them into a selection of fresh bread rolls and top with our homemade sage and onion stuffing and own recipe apple sauce. We always bring along plenty of condiments too and for this event, we also provided our crunchy coleslaw.
Our customer also asked us to cook veggie skewers for those guests who were either vegetarian or who didn’t want to eat the hog. With fresh vegetables like mushrooms, peppers, aubergine, red onion and courgette prepared and then roasted just before serving time, these beauties are always devoured as easily as a hog roast.
By the 5pm serving time it had started to rain but luckily we had our gazebo to shelter us and the guests. The food went down so well, with several guests commenting that our selection of bread rolls was fantastic and many saying how mouth-watering the hog roast rolls were. At the end of the day, as Hog Roast St Neots left the great event, we even received a round of applause, so we know that was a job well done!
