Jack and his friendship group have always been big fans of video games and often gather together when a new game is launched to play it as a group. Now that they have grown older and have families of their own, it is harder for them to meet up like they used to, so any opportunity for a gathering is important. In August, the group gathered at Jack’s home in 
Northamptonshire to enjoy a games night together, as well as a delicious meal from Hog Roast Great Oakley. Jack was looking for a casual buffet menu that would be a great addition to his party, and our catering manager Beth was more than happy to help. She suggested our classic hog roast menu and Jack agreed that this would be an ideal choice for him and his friends, plus a gluten-free option.
On the day of the event, Beth and the Hog Roast Great Oakley team arrived at the venue with plenty of time to prepare for the 8:00pm mealtime. We began by slow roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection. Once ready, it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, or a gluten-free alternative. The rolls were optionally filled with delicious trimmings, including sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alongside the mains, we also provided fresh chips and seasonal salad dishes, to create a well-rounded and delicious evening meal.
