When Hannah called Hog Roast Corby to enquire about us catering her parents’ wedding anniversary party, she told us she had been recommended to us by several of her friends who had enjoyed our pigs in buns on occasions including a birthday, a christening and a wedding. This is always great to hear of course, and also goes to show that our catering services are suitable for pretty much anything that you might have in mind. We’ve spent many years perfecting the art of the hog and spit roast but also by providing lots of other food too, both for personal tastes and dietary requirements.
For the party with more than sixty guests invited, Hannah asked us to prepare a feast of pigs in buns, two side salads and a potato option, as well as a dessert to be served afterwards. We have many menus to look through, and our customers are welcome to mix and match items across menus if needed, whether you need several courses served, an additional option or alternatives for vegetarians, vegans or guests with a gluten intolerance or allergy, for example. Our handmade desserts are loved by many of our long-time customers and we knew for this party, Hannah had made a great choice asking for a duo of sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart to be served.
Our Hog Roast Corby chef and team catered the party at a lovely local hotel over the weekend, where a marquee had been erected in the grounds and we cooked inside, away from the chilly February air. We often cook indoors and inside large marquee tents, as long as there is enough room and ventilation, but we can always cook outdoors if needed or preferred, regardless of the weather.
After preparing the meat to be roasted, we set it cooking, and it spent hours sizzling in its own juices until we carved and produced piles of crispy crackling and piles of juicy meat to fill the hog roast rolls. Once Hannah, her parents and their guests had all arrived, our pigs in buns were ready to be devoured, as well as the seasonal salads and new potatoes, and of course the scrumptious Hog Roast Corby desserts for later.
