Hog Roast Chacombe – Something Blue, Something New This January

Hog Roast ChacombeWhile we all look to the new year as a fresh start and an opportunity to begin anew, you don’t get much bigger or newer a life restart than marrying your loved one, as is the case for recent Hog Roast Chacombe customers and newlyweds Joanna and Trevor! Making the ultimate beginning to the year that two can, Joanna and Trevor held their wedding at the turn of the year and Hog Roast Chacombe were fortunate enough to be invited out to provide their wedding catering for the special day. As one of our first events of the year you cannot ask for much better a start to 2023 than a delightful wedding to serve!

For their wedding Joanna and Trevor opted for our formal wedding menu 4 option with the evening buffet to follow the canapes and dinner service that comes with menu 4. The Hog Roast Chacombe team chatted through many different options with the couple to be, and the two thought it would be an excellent idea to go with formal for the dinner and then a more laid back dining option for later into the night once everybody had loosened up with plenty of dancing and drinking.

The Hog Roast Chacombe team arrived early to the event location and prepped canapes and drinks in anticipation of guest arrival while our chefs started the roasting process so that our meats had the required 4-6 hours to cook properly for dinnertime.

Hog Roast ChacombeCanapes consisted of pan seared fillet of beef, handmade gourmet sausages, min quiches, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, Scottish smoked salmon slices. These were served around the reception room as guests were also offered welcome drinks. Dinner service began with our plated starters brought to guest tables, the choice being roasted breast of Gressingham duck or heritage tomato and beetroot carpaccio. The main course was served buffet style as our chefs carved and served the hog and beef roast from the spit while our servers also dished out the accompanying salads, potatoes and sides to guests along the buffet line. Dessert of cheesecake or chocolate torte was again served to guest tables.

All dinner items were cleared away to make room for the dancing, and after a few hours into the night our team then began to set up our evening buffet of bacon and sausage rolls with fries for guests to take at their leisure.

No better way to start the year, and we at Hog Roast Chacombe would like to wish the newlyweds all the best!
